Riding a Bicycle

By: Kashika Bharol

When the leaves of autumn were beginning to fall,
With me, my parents went to the mall.
We shopped at the stores, left and right,
Until finally they found me a bike.

It wasn't very big,
It wasn't very small,
It was the perfect size
and I was going to ride it
Once and for all.
I was scared for this day,
I knew it would come.
Hands on the handles, feet on the pedals,
I couldn't feel my toes, and my fingers were numb.

But I pushed my right foot forward,
Left foot back,
Hands clenching the handles,
This isn't so bad!

And that was the day,
I learned to ride a bike.
Soon I figured out
that it wasn't such a fright!
