Top 5: DIY Valentine's Day Ideas

Hi, I know its a little late for this, but you could use this for someone's birthday or on Valentine's Day next year! :D 1) Hand-Made Bouquet: Go to your backyard and pick some flowers. Pick some long strands of grass, even. Just plants which look pretty together. Gather them in a bunch, and take colored printer paper or large tissue paper, and wrap it around the bunch of plants, creating a cone shape with the paper. Tie a ribbon around the bouquet and make a bow at the end of it. Even tie a note to the ribbon to make it extra-special and personalized. 2) Be Creative: Write a poem or a song, and include it in a handmade card. Very thoughtful and not storebought, which makes it even more special. 3) Make Chocolate: Make it from scratch, or simply buy melting chocolate from the store and melt it in the microwave/on the stove according to your specific chocolate's melting instructions. Buy a silicone mold from the store (available at Michaels and Safeway) and pour yo...

Top 5: Tips for Writing/Playing Music On An Instrument

1) Gather all of your needed supplies into one area so your don't have to jump around from place to place looking for the stuff, especially if you play the piano or something involving staying in one place. 2) Make a cup of coffee, eat candy, or eat some substance to get you awake and up and running. 3) Attain inspiration from a song, artist, or composer. 4) Detain yourself in your room. Take away distractions. 5) First make a tune using your instrument, then make up the lyrics. It's easier that way.

Top 5: Back to School Must-Haves

I haven't written for a while now because of my recent vacation to India(!) So, I would like to start off the first post since July, with a Back-to-School list. WARNING!!! ONLY USE THESE PRODUCTS IF YOUR SCHOOL/TEACHER ALLOWS THEM!!! WARNING!!! 1.   Pencil Pouch:  I have always liked pencil pouches and have admired the way they can fit a lot of items and yet are still more compact than pencil boxes. 2.  Mechanical Pencils: I use these all the time because of how sharp they are all of the time. If they get dull, you can always break off some of the lead and have it sharp and pointy again, instead of sharpening it again and again and again. These are also stylish and come in a multiple amount of colors. 3. Kneaded Erasers: These are good to have because they can erase small things and get into tight and small spaces. If you are an artist, these are must-haves. 4. Sharpies:  These are awesome. They are stylish, don't  bleed through onto the other side of ...

Top 5: Things to Ponder

1) What do you call a male ladybug? 2)  Why doesn't superglue stick to the inside of the bottle/tube? 3)  Do fish ever get thirsty? 4)  What do they call their good plates in China? 5) Why is a boxing ring square?

Top 5: Things To Do Over the Summer! [2014 Edition]

School's out, summer's in! We all couldn't wait to enjoy the summertime when school was approaching its end. However, after summer is here, many people have nothing to do after vacation. Well, here's a list of things to do to become boredom-free! 1) Make a lemonade stand! Gather some friends, grab some lemons, sugar, and ice, put them in a blender, and make some freshly squeezed, homemade lemonade! Sell it for 25- 50 cents a cup. 2) Explore your backyard. Play "Adventure" with your siblings, and uncover the mystical things about your backyard. Also, (with your parents' permission) a fun thing to play is "Restaurant" in the backyard. Using mud, make chocolate or mudpies. If you have a certain fruit plant such as a berry bush or an apple tree, use some of those fruits to play with and really eat! (Like I previously said, this is all only with your parents' consent. 3)  Read a good book and enter a summer reading contest. Usually, they ha...

Top 5: Fourth of July DIY Crafts!

1) Red, White, and Blue Headband Take a piece of paper and wrap it around your head so it goes around comfortably. Secure with a piece of tape. Take equal strips of red tissue paper, blue tissue paper, and white tissue paper, the same length as your piece of paper. Tape or glue the tissue paper onto your white paper in order: red, white, blue. Done! 2) American Abstract Take a canvas, a blowdryer (electric hairdryer), and some crayons of the colors red, white, and blue (pick different shades). Cover your workspace with newspaper, so it won't get dirty. Tape the crayons in order of color to the top of the canvas. (as in light blue, dark blue, white, light red, dark red) Use the blowdryer to blow near the crayons, in the direction you want the colored wax to go. Since the crayon is made of wax, it will melt into a liquid with all of the heat and splatter onto the canvas, creating an abstract. After you are done, remove the crayons right away and let the painting dry. After it ha...

Top 5: Gifts Your Teacher Will Love

1) A Handmade Card: Who wouldn't like a homemade card? Your teacher will love this! She will especially like it because its the love that counts. 2) Chocolate:  I like to give this gift, because: who doesn't like chocolate??? Plus, it is easy to carry and is a very good gift. You can even make your own chocolate at home, by getting a chocolate mold and some chocolate melts! 3) A Gift Card: She will love this because she can spend the money on almost anything... books, movies, school supplies, things for herself... 4) Flowers: Flowers are beautiful, smell good, and look really nice when you use them to decorate. Your teacher will love the flowers; they could be from your yard (make sure their pretty ones and not weeds) or they can be store bought. 5) Something Special:  Anything else that is special! You can make a collage of the entire class and give it to her as a memoir, give her a special vase you made from clay, or anything else!

Top 5: Favorite Books

Here is a list of my top 5 most favorite books! I love to read, so I have many favorites. (not in any specific order) 1. Divergent  by Veronica Roth: This is one of my most favorite books considering I have just finished reading it recently and am VERY interested in sci-fi stories. My favorite character is Four, or Tobias. I would most definitely say that this qualifies for my top three most favorite books ever. (I even took a quiz and it came out to be that if I lived in that dystopian world, I would be Divergent! I could be Erudite, Amity, Abnegation, or Dauntless. However, I am not very brave, so I wouldn't pick Dauntless. I would rather pick Erudite or Amity over Abnegation, because Abnegation sounds like a pretty boring life to me.) 2. White Dolphin  by Gill Lewis: I am currently reading this book, and I appreciate it a lot! I have just started yesterday and am on Chapter 3 so far. I love how this story takes place on a shore next to the ocean, because I really li...

Top 5: Best iPhone Apps Ever

Have you been wondering which app to get? Well have no fear, the list of apps is HERE!!! (the apps are listed in no specific order) 1) Google Translate: This is a great app if you are traveling. It is also fun to see how you say certain phrases in different languages. This is a very education and fun app that I would highly recommend. 2) Notability: This is a great note-taking app in which you can just doodle for fun or take notes or even write stories on! It works great with a stylus or with just your finger. 3) Quick Math: This has to be my most favorite app ever! Made for adults and children alike, this is a great app which offers a rich learning experience. You have a certain amount of math problems to solve and you may take your time. It tracks your progress in the form of a chart as you go on, telling you if you are improving or not. There are four different levels- Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Extreme. 4) Draw Something: This is a drawing game you can play ...
