Top 5: DIY Valentine's Day Ideas

Hi, I know its a little late for this, but you could use this for someone's birthday or on Valentine's Day next year! :D

1) Hand-Made Bouquet: Go to your backyard and pick some flowers. Pick some long strands of grass, even. Just plants which look pretty together. Gather them in a bunch, and take colored printer paper or large tissue paper, and wrap it around the bunch of plants, creating a cone shape with the paper. Tie a ribbon around the bouquet and make a bow at the end of it. Even tie a note to the ribbon to make it extra-special and personalized.

2) Be Creative: Write a poem or a song, and include it in a handmade card. Very thoughtful and not storebought, which makes it even more special.

3) Make Chocolate: Make it from scratch, or simply buy melting chocolate from the store and melt it in the microwave/on the stove according to your specific chocolate's melting instructions. Buy a silicone mold from the store (available at Michaels and Safeway) and pour your chocolate into the molds. Put it in the refrigerator for about 10-12 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm and not liquid. Bring the chocolate outside of the fridge, and pop it out of the molds. Ta da!

4) Breakfast In Bed: Make blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, cereal, french toast, or whatever you like for breakfast! This is a old tradition which works every time.

5) Candy in a Jar: Buy a ton of hard candies. Take a mason jar and clean it out thoroughly. Unwrap the candies, and fill the mason jar with the candies. Put the lid on and close the jar tightly. Take stickers, ribbon, colored paper, tissue paper, pipe cleaners, duck tape, foam, felt, paint, sharpies, or just whatever you have handy, and decorate the mason jar. String a note with a hole-punch in the corner, on to a ribbon. Hot glue or tie the ribbon on to the rim of the lid of the mason jar.

Happy Valentine's Day! :)
